There is perhaps no greater debilitating belief than thinking there are elements of your reality that you cannot control – be they fate, karma, the influence of other people, your stars, your palm, your loves, your looks, your personality, your sense of humor, or chocolate.
You simply decide everything, moment to moment.
And while you may not remember all the decisions you've made, if you simply start with the ones you make today, it will always be enough.

Y'know, I was reading Dance of The Dissident Daughter, which will probably go to Audrey next as it's by the same author as Secret Life of Bees, (but you should read it too if you haven't, though you already live it), and I was thinking about women I turn to as namers of reality, and of course I thought, "Well, that's Diane," except I felt a need to acknowledge & ask your permission to turn to you as a Namer of Reality. Because that's what this blog, and all of your comments from when I first knew you without knowing you, are, with a sense of thudding or luminous joy or provocative silent truths.
